TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Modern leadership is a high-wire act.
For today’s leaders, expectations are high, criticism is public, feedback is whispered, and handrails are absent. Well-meaning executives are labeled as abusive; others, as asleep at the wheel. Many exhausted founders, managers, and pastors see their known approaches to leadership as lose-lose. Yet between abuse and abandon lies a Middle Way marked by virtues like curiosity over judgment or detachment, and humility over abasement or arrogance.
HISTORY’S LESSONS
Developed over millennia, defined for today
The Middle Way encapsulates ideologies that Aristotle called the “golden mean,” St. Basil the Great described as “neither excess nor deficiency,” Daniel Goleman defined as “emotional intelligence” and King Solomon referred to as “neither the right or the left.” Despite the term’s far-reaching roots across philosophy, psychology, and religion, our approach to the practice is concrete and actionable. Our group workshops and individual coaching leave leaders with practical tools and a deep understanding with which to wholeheartedly implement them.
TOMORROW’S OPPORTUNITY
Mindsets changed, methods established, manipulation ceased
The Middle Way seeks to create cultures that teams respect by imparting individuals with the specifics they lack. Neither a legalistic set of rules nor manipulative playbook of relational hacks, The Middle Way is a holistic approach to executive presence that empowers sincere leaders to refine their influence skills in a wholesome and healthy manner.
Our workshops and coaching help leaders and teams understand:
Leadership as a profession, not a position
The impact of personality and family upbringing on team dynamics
How actions cause reactions in others
Why method trumps message every time
The power of perspective amidst drama
Together, we discover and establish:
A common language for extremes to avoid and postures to pursue
Attributes of highly-functioning relationships
The virtues of self-control and other-centeredness
Specific approaches to conflict resolution
The logic and wisdom behind the methodology
